Protosys Technologies Private Limited was established 26 years ago as a 3D printing and prototyping firm. Since then, they have expanded their services to include design, prototyping, mould making, production of parts, and product assembly. Protosys has integrated its operations and experienced a surge in business due to the Make in India initiative. In the past year, they have acquired three new customers who previously worked with Chinese firms. , Paresh Bheda, Director at Protosys Technologies Private Limited, shared some interesting facts about the company at Elecrama 2023.
Protosys was ahead of its time when they started as 3D printing was not a well-known manufacturing technique. They added new modules and technologies over time, such as short-run products, to cater to their customers’ needs. They also developed Proto tooling, which allows for small batch production ranging from 100 to 500 units. The company has since expanded into production tooling for various industries, including automotive, electronics, and consumer goods.
According to Bheda, the Make in India initiative has helped Protosys gain more business, as more people are opting for Indian firms over Chinese ones, although there is still a significant difference in market share. The company envisions India becoming a major manufacturing hub with support from multinational companies and the government.
Protosys recently participated in Elecrama 2023 for the first time, and they were hopeful that they would attract more customers as they catered to the electrical and electronics industry. The company was inspired by the exhibition and was confident of securing several deals.
